Hutbitat is at the forefront of a growing movement to ensure that blacks in urban poverty have the resources they need to thrive and explore their full potential.
Education is vital for Africa’s development and progress, as it can help children escape poverty, improve their health, and contribute to a more stable and prosperous future.

Because our kids and communities deserve clean water.
According to available data, approximately 30% of Africans lack access to basic drinking water services, roughly one in three people in Africa do not have access to clean water as of 2024; this translates to around 411 million people across the continent. Water makes up 71% of the earth’s surface. The human body is made up of 60-75% water. It is estimated by 2030, 756 million to 250 million people in Africa will be living in areas of high-water stress, which will likely displace 24 million and 700 million people as conditions become increasingly unlivable.
The phrase “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” is from the book of Genesis1:2. It describes the moment when God’s spirit began to create the world, specifically moving over the surface of the waters before the creation of light.
As of 2020, only 39% of African’s countries had access to drinking water.
